DECEMBER 2024 - YOTO MINI RECALL

Yoto minis manufactured between 2021-2023 had a recall in April 2024. This was dealt with by sending a new charging cord and customers were given a $30 CAD voucher.

This latest December 2024 recall further addresses the issue by offering a battery replacement kit and another $30 CAD voucher.

So what’s the deal with the new recall this week?

This week’s announcement isn’t a new recall, but a continuation of the old recall about using Yoto Minis that still contain a battery from the old supplier.

The good news is, similarly to part 1 of the recall back in April 2024, it seems to be a very straightforward recall solution:

In response to the latest reports, the company is now issuing free battery replacement kits to all impacted Yoto Mini customers, including those who had previously ordered and received the smart cable during the first round of the recall.

Customers who order a battery replacement kit and then register their repaired device will also receive a $30 CAD credit to use on Yoto purchases through their website.

If you were affected by the recall, you should have received an email.

NOTE: The website is buggy right now. The button to place order seems to disappear while they are dealing with the website demand.

The voucher will be sent later after the replacement kit has been ordered.
