Frankly, we really didn't subscribe to one particular method. And it was an early but long-game approach for us. Well before our LO turned two, we gradually introduced the potty to her, mainly through books.
Books, books, and lots of conversations:
- The Lovevery books showing actual kids (and real pee and poo!) helped a lot. The annoying thing is you can only buy them if you subscribe to their play kits. However, I have spotted them on FB Marketplace and Lovevery BST groups.
- We also openly discussed pooing and peeing. For example, when we were out with our dog Marcie, we'd explain what was happening when our furball was doing her business.
