FEBRUARY 2025 - MEC TOASTER BUNTING/SUIT RECALL

MEC is recalling some Toaster and Toaster Bunting snow suits due to mould contamination. The affected suits were sold between August to December 2024 and have specific product codes and sizes. Customers can return the suits to MEC stores for an exchange or refund.

Affected suits, made in Vietnam, are one-piece, waterproof, and have double zippers on the front torso.

Health Canada warns that mould exposure can pose health risks, especially for vulnerable individuals.

Approximately 3,200 suits were sold in Canada.

As of February 11, 2025, MEC reported two customer injuries in Canada.

MEC says neither of the cases has been confirmed to be caused by wearing the Toaster suits, but they’re issuing the recall to be proactive.

“We prioritize your safety and remain transparent in handling this issue,” said the company.

To check if your MEC Toaster or Toaster Bunting suits are affected, only a specific batch is affected.
